TGT Computer Teacher

1. Role Objective

To teach Computer Science and Information Technology to middle and secondary classes, develop students’ computational thinking, and ensure they gain practical knowledge of digital tools, programming, and safe technology usage.

2. Key Responsibilities A. Teaching & Classroom Management

  • Teach Computer Science/IT to Classes VI–X as per the prescribed curriculum (CBSE/State Board).
  • Deliver lessons in:
  • Basic computer operations
  • MS Office / Google Workspace
  • Internet & digital literacy
  • Programming languages (Python, Scratch, HTML, etc.)
  • Computer hardware basics
  • Cyber safety & responsible digital behavior
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and digital content.
  • Maintain a disciplined, student-friendly learning environment.
  • Conduct class tests, assignments, practical exams, and maintain records.

B. Practical Lab Management

  • Ensure smooth functioning of the computer lab.
  • Maintain systems, report technical issues, and coordinate with IT support.
  • Ensure safe use of computers by all students.
  • Prepare and update lab manuals and practical files.
  • Manage inventory of equipment and software.

C. Academic Responsibilities

  • Prepare question papers, worksheets, and evaluation rubrics.
  • Maintain student performance data and progress reports.
  • Provide remedial classes to help weak students.
  • Participate in curriculum planning, academic audits, and innovative teaching practices.
  • Ensure timely completion of syllabus.

D. Student Engagement

  • Guide students in computer-based projects, coding competitions, exhibitions, and ICT activities.
  • Encourage students to use technology for learning and creativity.
  • Promote responsible internet usage and cyber hygiene.

E. School & Administrative Duties

  • Perform invigilation, examination duty, and evaluation work.
  • Attend staff meetings, training programs, and workshops.
  • Act as Class Teacher when assigned.
  • Support school events, assemblies, and celebrations.
  • Maintain student safety and follow all school policies.

3. Required Qualifications Educational Qualification

  • B.Sc / BCA / B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science / IT, OR
  • Graduation in any discipline with PGDCA, and
  • B.Ed. with Computer Science as a teaching subject (preferred).

4. Experience

  • 2–5 years of teaching experience at middle/secondary level preferred.
  • Freshers with strong subject knowledge and teaching ability may also be considered.

5. Skills & Competencies

  • Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of Computer Science.
  • Good command over programming languages (Python, HTML, Scratch, etc.).
  • Ability to integrate digital tools, smart boards, and educational software in teaching.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Student‑centric, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

6. Additional Expectations

  • Support digital initiatives of the school (ERP, smart classes, tech integration).
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and school data.
  • Promote ethical, safe, and responsible use of technology.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
