Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university
• English must be one of the main subjects (often at least 50% marks in English and overall graduation, though schools may vary).
• B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) from an NCTE-recognized institution.

2. CTET Qualification

• CTET Paper II (Classes VI–VIII) is mandatory for teaching TGT classes in CBSE schools.
• Conducted by CBSE.
• Subject specialization should match English.

3. Subject Requirement

• English should be studied as:
• A core/major subject in graduation, not just a qualifying paper.

4. Teaching Level

• TGT English teachers usually teach Classes VI to X (sometimes VI–VIII only).

5. Language Skills

• Strong command over:
• English grammar, literature, and writing skills
• Communication and classroom teaching skills

6. Age Limit

• No fixed CBSE age limit.
• Individual schools may set their own (commonly 21–40 years).

7. Additional Preferences (School-specific)

• Teaching experience (1–3 years preferred but not always mandatory)
• Knowledge of:

• ICT tools / smart classes
