Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Therapist to join our inpatient primary substance abuse treatment team in Puerto Rico. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Addiction Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Psychologist with experience working in behavioral health and substance use treatment settings.

This position plays a vital role in supporting clients throughout their recovery journey by providing individual counseling, group therapy, clinical assessments, treatment planning, and documentation in a collaborative inpatient environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services for clients in an inpatient substance abuse treatment setting
• Conduct intake evaluations, biopsychosocial assessments, and clinical screenings
• Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans
• Complete clinical documentation, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely manner
• Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups focused on recovery and relapse prevention
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, and clinical teams to coordinate patient care
• Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards
• Support clients through crisis intervention and emotional stabilization when needed
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations

Qualifications

• Certified Addiction Counselor, LCSW, LPC, or Licensed Psychologist in Puerto Rico
• Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
• Experience working in substance abuse and/or behavioral health treatment preferred
• Strong group facilitation and individual counseling skills
• Knowledge of substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, and recovery principles
• Ability to complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient environment
