Job Summary:

As a Therapist or Provisional Therapist, you will provide therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups within your assigned geographic region and scope of practice. Working under the supervision of a licensed therapist or psychologist when provisionally licensed, you will assess client needs, establish diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions. This position involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining clinical documentation, and supporting clients in developing healthier coping strategies, improving relationships, and achieving long-term wellness goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions designed to help clients build coping skills, strengthen relationships, and improve overall mental health
  • Conduct intake screenings, comprehensive assessments, and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment strategies that evolve based on assessment findings and ongoing client progress
  • Facilitate counseling groups, educational sessions, trauma-informed services, and other specialized therapeutic interventions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams and participate in clinical staffing meetings to discuss treatment progress and client needs
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure services are authorized and client information is submitted within required timeframes
  • Document all services provided in accordance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards
  • Assist clients through transitions in care and complete discharge documentation such as summaries and transition plans
  • Respond to crisis situations and coordinate emergency services when necessary to ensure client safety and support
  • Provide consultation to treatment team members and support evidence-based clinical practices
  • Represent the organization professionally within the community and maintain positive relationships with referral sources, clients, and colleagues
  • Support organizational goals and participate in required training, meetings, and program development activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field
  • Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Provisionally Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT)
  • Must hold provisional licensure with the applicable state board of professional registration
  • Must be able to obtain full licensure by completing required clinical supervision hours and passing the applicable licensing examination
  • Training and demonstrated knowledge of diagnostic criteria for individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders
  • Knowledge of counseling methods, rehabilitation techniques, and treatment modalities used in behavioral health services
  • Understanding of legal requirements and procedures related to behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment

Additional Qualifications:
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required
  • Successful completion of background screening including criminal, driving, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks
  • Willingness to provide telehealth services (training provided)
  • Ability to develop, coordinate, and evaluate services within assigned programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear documentation and reports
  • Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with clients, referral partners, and team members
  • Ability to follow supervision and direction while demonstrating professional judgment and ethical practice
  • Must attain all required clinical supervision hours and licensing requirements for full licensure
  • Must attain required continuing education hours in accordance with applicable state regulations

Physical Requirements
  • Perform primarily sedentary work, including extended periods of sitting while completing documentation or telehealth services
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to approximately 10 pounds
  • Perform repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements while typing or writing during the work shift
  • Occasionally stand or walk for short periods while performing job duties or interacting with clients
