Pay is based on experience within a range of $32.05 to $38.46 per hour. Full time, non-exempt, benefits eligible. Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of a Crisis Therapist is to serve persons in the community who are experiencing a mental health emergency through comprehensive crisis and risk assessments, therapeutic interventions, and coordination of care to children, adolescents and adults. The Crisis Therapist will provide mental health services based on the application of evidenced-based clinical mental health, social work or psychology theory and principles. Specific duties include but not limited to:

• Provide services for walk-in, in-person crisis referrals, and referrals from community partners.
• Conduct crisis assessment interviews including a mental status exam, assessment of suicide/homicide risk, and diagnosis of mental health or substance use disorders as applicable and an evaluation of whether this individual meets the inpatient psychiatric admission criteria.
• Provide crisis counseling and determine, as a matter of course, whether the client would be appropriate for a clinical intake, referral, and/or community resources as an alternative to hospitalization.
• Conduct all Reform Hospital Assessments.
• Provide services related to court evaluations and testimony.
• Provide consultation and education activities.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Comfort with the pace of crisis-related work and emergency room care.
• Completing additional responsibilities that may be assigned as circumstances warrant.

Qualifications including but not limited to:

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plus a master's degree from an accredited school of social work, counseling, psychology;
• A minimum of two years experience in a mental health outpatient setting (or similar setting) providing screening, psychiatric evaluation, crisis/emergency services and diagnoses
• A commitment to a community-based mental health services delivery model;
• Licensure from the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board in Kansas;
• Excellent diagnostic, crisis intervention and brief psychotherapy skills;
• Computer experience and basic computer fluency;
• Reliable transportation and a valid, unrestricted driver's license
• An energetic and positive approach to the rapidly evolving changes and challenges of a complex work place.
• Comfortable working with and delivering services through tele-video.
