Tier 2 Service Technician

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Tier 2 Service Technician to join our growing support team. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills and deep expertise across Microsoft environments, Google Workspace (GAFE), macOS systems, networking, servers, virtualization (VMware ESXi), and cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.

This position serves as an escalation point for Tier 1 support and works closely with our Engineering Team to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues while ensuring a positive client experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced remote and onsite technical support for users across Windows, macOS, and cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and GAFE.
  • Configure and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems.
  • Manage and maintain virtualized environments, particularly VMware vSphere/ESXi and related VM infrastructure.
  • Deploy, configure, and monitor cloud services (Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, AWS).
  • Support and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring solutions.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and environment changes in service management tools.
  • Collaborate with Tier 1 staff and the Engineering Team to ensure efficient issue resolution and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of IT support or systems administration experience (Tier 2 level or higher).
  • Strong proficiency in:
  • Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems
  • macOS setup, management, and integration with Windows environments
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, and Office 365 administration
  • Google Workspace (GAFE) management and migration
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, TCP/IP)
  • VMware vSphere/ESXi setup and maintenance
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS)
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Server+, Microsoft MCSA, or VMware VCP.
  • Experience with RMM/PSA tools and ITSM systems.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
  • Understanding of cloud-based security and identity management.
