• Preparation of Work Area
• Inspect and prepare surfaces (walls, floors, counters, etc.) before tiling.
• Ensure surfaces are clean, level, and free from dust, grease, or loose materials.
• Mark layout lines and reference points for accurate alignment.
• Material Handling
• Select appropriate tiles, adhesives, spacers, and grout as per project specifications.
• Cut, shape, and polish tiles using hand tools or machines.
• Ensure proper storage and safe handling of tiles to prevent breakage.
• Installation Work
• Mix and apply mortar/adhesive according to manufacturer’s instructions.
• Lay tiles in straight lines, patterns, or designs as required in the fit-out plan.
• Use spacers for uniform gaps and maintain alignment.
• Ensure tiles are fixed firmly without air pockets.
• Finishing & Grouting
• Apply grout evenly and clean excess material.
• Finish edges, joints, and corners neatly.
• Polish and clean tiled surfaces after completion.
• Quality Standards
• Follow fit-out drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
• Ensure proper slope for wet areas (bathrooms, kitchens, balconies) to avoid water accumulation.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and finishing.
• Safety & Compliance
• Wear proper PPE (helmets, gloves, safety boots, masks).
• Handle cutting machines and sharp tools with care.
• Follow site safety regulations and housekeeping practices.
• Coordination & Reporting
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and other trades (plumbers, electricians, carpenters) to avoid clashes.
• Report material shortages or damages to the supervisor.
• Provide daily updates on progress.
• General Rules
• Avoid wastage of materials.
• Keep the workplace clean and safe.
• Follow instructions from the fit-out supervisor/engineer.
• Maintain discipline and professional behavior on site.
