Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Escrow Officer to manage and oversee escrow transactions within our financial services team. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth processing of real estate closings, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and provide exceptional service to clients. This role requires a strong understanding of mortgage processes, loan origination, and escrow procedures, with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency in handling sensitive financial documents. Prior experience in loan officer roles, mortgage servicing, or credit analysis is highly desirable.

Duties

  • Manage all aspects of escrow transactions from opening to closing, ensuring timely and accurate completion of each step.
  • Coordinate with lenders, real estate agents, attorneys, and clients to facilitate smooth communication and transaction flow.
  • Review and verify documents such as contracts, TILA disclosures, FNMA guidelines, and other legal requirements.
  • Conduct credit analysis and assess borrower qualifications in accordance with underwriting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and other applicable federal and state laws.
  • Perform loan processing tasks including document preparation, review, and approval workflows.
  • Maintain detailed records of all transactions using 10-key typing skills for data entry accuracy.
  • Assist with mortgage servicing activities as needed, including escrow account management and payment processing.
  • Provide guidance on escrow procedures and answer client inquiries professionally.
  • Adhere to all banking regulations and internal policies to uphold the integrity of the escrow process.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Escrow Officer or in a similar role within the mortgage or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of FNMA guidelines, underwriting processes, loan origination, mortgage servicing, TILA regulations, contracts, and banking operations.
  • Familiarity with credit analysis, loan processing procedures, escrow management, and fair housing regulations.
  • Excellent math skills including basic math proficiency and 10-key typing speed for accurate data entry.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal documents related to real estate transactions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with clients and industry professionals.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $50,731.21 - $61,095.65 per year
