Toddler Assistant Teacher

At Freedom Early Learning Center (FELC), we are a loving, Christian-based early childhood center located in the Jenison/Hudsonville area. Our mission is to nurture and guide young hearts and minds, helping them grow in spiritual, cognitive, emotional, physical, and social ways. We are seeking a compassionate and caring Assistant Teacher to join our team.

As an Assistant Teacher, you will be an integral part of our mission, working closely with the Lead Teacher to provide an enriching, safe, and welcoming space for young children. Your role will be to support both the children and the teaching team, ensuring that each child feels valued, loved, and encouraged as they grow and learn. This position offers a chance to make a real difference in the lives of children, helping to shape their hearts and minds with kindness, patience, and grace.

Your Responsibilities:

• Work alongside the Lead Teacher to create a positive and nurturing classroom environment.
• Help plan, prepare, and maintain a safe, clean, and engaging space for the children.
• Supervise and care for children during class time and outdoor play, providing attention and support as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents to update them on their child’s progress and experiences.
• Follow the curriculum and assist in completing child assessments to ensure each child’s development is supported.
• Maintain a professional, caring, and positive attitude at all times, acting as a role model for the children.

• A High School Diploma (required).

• Early childhood experience is preferred, but we value a loving and compassionate heart above all.
• Physical ability to lift children of various sizes and help with equipment as needed.
• Flexibility to work early hours or later shifts, with the possibility of working any time between 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
