Toddler II Teacher

Job Summary
M-F, 9am- 6pm (18 mos. - 24 mos.)

Carousel Early Childhood Center is looking to hire a toddler teacher to prepare and teach daily lessons, provide a safe environment for children to learn and play, and follow DSS and school guidelines and expectations. Duties include maintaining rosters and tracking sheets, morning circle time, bathroom assistance, supervising play time, and assisting with meals. A childcare teacher must have a great love and patience for children.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must pass Health Assessment/TB test and criminal background check
• Available to work Monday - Friday, 9-6
• Ability to fully engage in physical activity, including kneeling, stooping, squatting, and standing for a majority of the day.
• REQUIRED 6 months previous experience working with children in a licensed or accredited day care/childcare center.
• A passion for working/playing with infants, toddlers and preschoolers
• Ability to act as mediator between children
• Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable

Responsibilities:

- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for children in the daycare
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and play
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, mealtime, and naptime
- Provide individualized attention and tutoring to children who may need extra support
- Monitor and ensure the well-being of each child in the daycare
- Collaborate with other daycare staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

Experience:
- Previous experience working in a DSS approved daycare
- Knowledge of child development principles and practices
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and parents
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children

Pay: $16.25 - $17.25 per hour
