Shalom School Toddler Teacher Position Overview:
Shalom School’s Preschool and Pre-k program is NAEYC-accredited and dedicated to nurturing the emotional, social, academic, and spiritual development of each child. The Toddler Teacher plays a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and responsive classroom environment for children under 2 years of age. Teachers at Shalom School work collaboratively as part of a caring, professional team committed to providing an outstanding early childhood education rooted in Jewish values and traditions.
Reports to: Preschool Director
Hours: 8 hours/day, Monday-Friday, schedule based on program needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a loving, respectful, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Interact with children in ways that support emotional growth and healthy attachment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment aligned with licensing and health standards.
- Use observation and documentation techniques to track children's development and maintain anecdotal records.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support all areas of development.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure consistency and quality across the toddler program.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with families to build trust and partnership.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to school-wide activities.Follow all licensing regulations and health/safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 core Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, including 3 infant/toddler units.
- At least 6 months of experience teaching in a licensed early childhood setting.
- Physical ability to actively engage with young children (run, bend, squat, lift, carry, etc.).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Up-to-date immunizations and live scan fingerprint clearance.
- Commitment to inclusive, values-driven early childhood education.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
