Toddler Teacher

Looking for a caring, energetic, and self-motivated early learning professional to be our Lead Toddler Teacher. Prefer someone with full time availability to ensure consistency in the classroom.

The ideal candidates would have at least 1 year experience working with children ages 1-12, preferably in a group setting, basic knowledge of early childhood development, and the ability to be flexible in a fast paced environment. Job does require lifting.

All applicants must be 18 years or older, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants are required to comply with all early childhood standards set forth by the State of Washington. Minimum start pay $20.00 hour for an teacher's aide. Lead teacher start pay dependent on education and experience.

Background check, First Aid/CPR, TB test, Blood Borne Pathogens training, 30 Hour Childcare basic education course, and Food Handlers card will be required to be completed upon hire. All required training and educational classes are paid for by employer.

DUTIES
Establish and enforce rules of behavior for children in their classrooms
Provide basic needs for children
Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
Manage classroom activities including lessons, play, breaks and meals.

SKILLS
Ability to develop activities that are fun and educational for young children
Ability to instruct young children in rules of conduct and learning new tasks
Ability to select the appropriate teaching method and adapt to children’s learning styles
Ability to effectively communicate with children and parents
Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to the various needs of children and parents
Patience and compassion suitable for working with young children.

Pay rate starting at $ 20.00 hour. Higher rate dependent on education and/or experience.
