Toddler Teacher

Position Summary
The Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 20–30 months. This role supports toddlers’ social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth through hands-on activities, play-based learning, and consistent routines. The teacher partners with families, colleagues, and leadership to ensure the highest quality of care and education. Hours for this position are 9am to 6pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily activities that promote fine and gross motor skills, early language development, and problem-solving abilities.
• Maintain a consistent classroom routine that fosters security, independence, and positive behavior.
• Provide individualized attention and guidance to meet each child’s developmental needs.
• Encourage self-help skills, including feeding, dressing, and toileting, in a patient and supportive manner.
• Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being.
• Establish and maintain open, positive communication with parents/guardians, providing updates on progress, milestones, and concerns.
• Keep accurate records of attendance, incidents, and developmental observations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months experience working with toddlers in a childcare or educational setting.
• Knowledge of toddler developmental milestones and age-appropriate practices.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and participate in active play indoors and outdoors.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
