Tool Room/Production Support Position Overview:
The Tooling/Production Support Position is responsible for Vending machines, tool crib inventory, job preparation, provide set up support and provide inspection assistance when needed.
Tool Room

Monitor and Manage Vending Machine Program
-
Manage toolroom inventory levels and purchasing of needed tools for upcoming jobs. This is completed with assistance from Programming and Purchasing. (use tool request form)

Control tooling boxes specifically for job part numbers

Build tooling in DPP job folders.

Prepare tooling boxes and fixtures for machinists to reduce setup time.
-
Keep job rack sequenced according to schedule by machine.
-
When needed, help set up at machines to improve efficiency to meet company goals.

Manage regrind inventory.

Assist in piece inspection when inspectors are overloaded.
Production Support:

Create DPP Gauge Lists
-
Maintain DPP Gauge Lists

Maintain gauge deployment system
-
Review Schedule boards weekly and prepare gage kits for each plant for jobs to be set up (Select gauges from DPP gage list, verify calibration status of gauges to be used, set up set masters as required, includes documenting measured values of gauge block stack, deploy gauge kit

Work with Quality Engineer to oversee and maintain calibration system (Assist during annual onsite calibration to retrieve gauges and present to technicians, act as central control for gauges sent out for calibration and upon their return, work with Quality Engineers to complete monthly reviews of gages past due and/or coming due for calibration)

Coordinate and maintain communication related to gauge calibration/repair with outside services

Requirements:
- Education: High School diploma or CNC technical background preferred
-
Experience: minimum of 5 years of machining or tool related experience

Skills and competencies: Basic machining, tooling and blueprint reading knowledge with solid math skills, great organizational skills
