We are seeking an experienced Trade Finance Specialist to join one of the most renowned chemical distribution companies in the Middle East. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end trade finance operations , ensuring smooth execution, compliance, and cost efficiency across all trade-related transactions.


Location - Dubai

Key Responsibilities

Trade Finance Operations

  • Prepare, review, and submit documentation for opening LCs, SBLCs, and TRs in line with company policies and banking requirements.
  • Monitor the lifecycle of LCs/TRs , including amendments, acceptances, and settlements.
  • Ensure all trade finance transactions comply with UCP, ISBP , and other relevant international trade guidelines.
  • Track maturity dates and arrange timely settlements to avoid delays or penalties.

Bank Coordination

  • Liaise with banks to obtain competitive pricing on LC issuance, amendments, confirmations, and discounting.
  • Follow up with banks to ensure smooth processing and prompt opening of LCs/TRs .
  • Resolve discrepancies or banking queries related to trade documents and settlements.

Internal Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Purchasing/Procurement team to understand contract terms, shipment schedules, and supplier requirements.
  • Align financial instruments ( LCs/TRs ) with procurement timelines to prevent supply chain delays.
  • Provide internal stakeholders with updates on LC statuses, timelines, and bank charges.

Accounting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of all trade finance instruments and transactions.
  • Record and reconcile bank charges, commissions, interest, and related expenses with the finance/accounts team.
  • Prepare periodic reports on outstanding LCs/TRs, bank exposures , and cost analysis.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Identify risks associated with trade finance instruments and propose appropriate mitigation measures

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, International Business , or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in trade finance, managing LCs, SBLCs, TRs , or similar banking instruments.
  • Strong understanding of international trade documentation and compliance standards.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and negotiation skills for effective engagement with banks and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems ; solid foundational knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple timelines under pressure .
