Trade Show Specialist

Goodheart-Willcox Publisher, Experts in Career and Technical Education (CTE), and an employee-owned company, is seeking a Trade Show Specialist. The Trade Show Specialist will lead key trade show initiatives, manage all promotional materials, and provide support to the Marketing team for other strategic plans. This position will follow a hybrid schedule, working a minimum of one day per week in our Tinley Park, Illinois office.
Our compensation is market based and takes into account a variety of factors including the candidate’s skill set, experience level, internal equity, and location. For this position, we anticipate the starting salary falling between $55,000 and $65,000 per year. In addition, the company makes a 10% contribution to the Employee Stock Ownership Plan and a 4% matching contribution to the 401(k).
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with internal partners and third-party vendors on the timely execution of trade show goals and objectives.
- Manage the logistics and execute our participation at approximately 150+ trade shows per year.
- Take responsibility for a 360-degree view of the trade show and conference strategy—including planning and shipping, collaborating with the team on booth layout and ways to drive traffic to the booth, promoting G-W conference events, securing post-show feedback, and evaluating the financial and strategic success of the events.
- Source new trade show displays and work with the Sr. Graphic Designer to bring our vision to life.
- Measure ROI, monitor budget, and make data-driven decisions regarding conferences.
- Provide support to the Marketing team, such as social media execution and other marketing initiatives.
- Occasional overnight travel (once or twice per year) may be necessary to attend conferences and trade shows.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum three years of marketing, business, or sales experience with progressive increase in responsibilities required.
- Marketing and sales experience in educational publishing is a plus.
- Excellent planning, time management, decision-making, budgeting, and collaboration skills, along with attention to detail.
