Position Summary:
The Trade Strategy Analyst supports the Revenue Growth Leadership (RGL) team by analyzing trade investment and promotional effectiveness to optimize topline growth and profitability. This role partners closely with Sales, Finance, and Marketing to develop actionable insights that ensure trade spend delivers strong ROI and aligns with the company’s strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate promotional effectiveness across customers, channels, and packs using internal and syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, retailer POS, etc.).
Track and measure trade spend ROI, identifying opportunities to reallocate funds to higher-return activities.
Develop post-event analyses and build pre-event guardrails to guide sales planning.
Support customer-specific trade strategy development in partnership with Sales.
Recommend optimal promotion depth, frequency, and mechanics to balance retailer needs with company goals.
Monitor competitor promotional activity to benchmark effectiveness and identify best practices.
Maintain dashboards and reporting tools that track trade spend, promotional performance, and execution.
Partner with Revenue Accounting and Finance to ensure trade accruals and deductions align with planned investments.
Support system/process transitions to enhance trade visibility and analysis.
Collaborate with Sales teams to build joint business plans that maximize trade efficiency and impact.
Partner with Marketing and Category Management to ensure promotions align with brand and category strategies.
Present findings and recommendations to RGL leadership and customer teams.
Upholds and demonstrates leadership in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy, and MMAD volunteering opportunities.
This position has food Safety Responsibilities.
Other responsibilities, as necessary.
Supervisory: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; Master’s a plus.
2–4 years of experience in Revenue Growth Management, Data Analytics, Finance, or Trade Marketing in CPG or retail.
