Traffic and Detour SME

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical authority for all traffic management and detour works on the project
  • Review and approve Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), detour layouts, and staging plans
  • Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, traffic codes, and safety standards
  • Coordinate with contractors, designers, and authorities on traffic-related matters
  • Provide expert advice on traffic impacts, mitigation measures, and temporary road works
  • Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, and change requests related to traffic and detours
  • Participate in constructability reviews to minimize traffic disruption during construction
  • Monitor contractor implementation of approved traffic and detour plans on site
  • Attend traffic coordination meetings with stakeholders and authorities
  • Support traffic modeling, traffic impact assessments, and diversion studies
  • Review signage, road markings, barriers, and temporary traffic control devices
  • Ensure public safety and access for emergency services, pedestrians, and public transport
  • Support incident management planning and emergency response coordination
  • Assist in resolving claims or disputes related to traffic disruptions or delays
  • Support project close-out and reinstatement of permanent traffic arrangements
  • Mentor and guide junior traffic engineers within the PMC team

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in traffic management and detour planning for major road and infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience in a PMC or consultancy environment
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi traffic regulations and authority approval processes
  • Experience working on urban infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC preferred
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills
