Traffic Control Plan Designer Job Summary

HD Barricade, Inc. seeks Plan Drafters to produce traffic control plans that meet MUTCD and all state and local requirements. Candidates should be detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to deliver accurate, efficient plans in a fast-paced environment. RapidPlan experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

· Review construction plans to identify needs for contractor/developer.

· Create traffic control drawings using Rapid Plan.

· Prepare visual aids highlighting issues in temporary traffic plans.

· Advise technicians on traffic control devices.

· Coordinate plan reviews and permits with relevant agencies.

· Assess work sites for traffic impact and recommend safety measures.

· Establish street closure procedures for repairs and construction.

Knowledge and Skills

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, facilitating positive customer relationships

· Quick to learn, with keen attention to detail and adaptability in dynamic environments

· Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and effective organizational skills

· High emotional intelligence with proven aptitude for collaborative teamwork

Qualifications

· Strong computer skills, and proficient with Microsoft Office Applications

· A minimum of one year of experience with Rapid Plan or a comparable platform is preferred.

· Previous experience in traffic control or construction projects is desirable.

· ATSSA certification is preferred; however, training will be provided if necessary.
