Position Overview

We are seeking a Traffic Engineer to support planning and design assignments across our Infrastructure portfolio in Dubai. The role is responsible for preparing Traffic Impact Studies (TIS/TIA), microsimulation and capacity analyses, access and parking studies, work zone traffic management plans, and coordination with UAE authorities (e.g., RTA, and relevant municipalities). The ideal candidate is hands‑on with analytical tools (SIDRA, SYNCHRO/Sim Traffic, HCS, VISSIM), understands local standards, and can work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver compliant submissions and practical, buildable solutions.

Responsibilities

· Prepare Traffic Impact Studies / Assessments (TIS/TIA) in accordance with UAE authority guidelines (e.g., RTA manuals, ITC Abu Dhabi requirements).

· Develop traffic management plans (TMP/TTC) for construction/temporary works, including detours, signage, and phasing that comply with RTA Work Zone requirements.

· Perform trip generation, distribution, modal split, and assignment using ITE Trip Generation and other regionally accepted references.

· Support access management, site circulation, parking supply/demand, and loading/servicing strategies for mixed‑use, residential, commercial, and industrial developments.

· Review geometric design (horizontal/vertical alignment, lane configuration, turning radii), signing/marking, and signal timing/coordination for practicality and safety.

· Prepare high‑quality reports, figures, and drawings for authority submissions; coordinate responses to review comments until approval.

· Collaborate with architects, master planners, roadway, drainage, and utilities teams to integrate traffic solutions within overall project constraints.

· Attend technical meetings with clients, contractors, and authorities; present analyses, defend assumptions, and negotiate practical mitigation measures.

· Support preparation of scopes, schedules, and fee proposals; track deliverables and ensure on‑time, on‑budget, and compliant delivery.

· Maintain project records within the Common Data Environment (e.g., Aconex) and uphold document control and QA/QC procedures.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation focus preferred); Master’s in Transportation/Traffic Engineering is an advantage.

· 6–10 years of experience in traffic engineering/transport planning with a consultancy in the GCC/UAE.

· Strong knowledge of UAE authority standards and procedures (e.g., RTA, and municipal requirements).

· Familiarity with ITE Trip Generation, HCM methodologies, AASHTO/DM standards, and local design practices.

· Ability to interpret and review geometric design, signal plans, signing/marking, and traffic control layouts.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear, accurate, and persuasive reports and presentations.

· Strong coordination skills and stakeholder management; prior experience engaging with authorities on reviews and approvals.

· Proficiency in AutoCAD; exposure to GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) is a plus.

· Valid UAE driving license is preferred; ability to conduct site visits and surveys as required.

· Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
