Job Overview
America’s Outdoor Adventure Park (AOAP) is seeking an experienced, safety‑focused Trail Guide Activities Leader / Manager to oversee daily trail operations and lead our Side‑by‑Side (SxS) Trail Guide team. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, well‑organized, and high‑quality guided off‑road experiences while maintaining strong team performance and exceptional guest satisfaction.
As the Trail Guide Activities Leader / Manager, you will supervise, train, and support trail guides, manage daily ride schedules, monitor trail conditions, and serve as the primary point of leadership for all guided trail activities. This role is ideal for someone with strong off‑road experience, leadership skills, and a passion for outdoor adventure and guest service.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Operations
- Supervise and lead SxS Trail Guides during daily operations
- Schedule, assign, and coordinate guided trail rides
- Ensure all guided activities operate safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Serve as on‑site leadership for trail operations during assigned shifts
- Act as escalation point for guest concerns, incidents, or emergencies
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all safety standards, resort policies, and trail rules
- Conduct and oversee pre‑ride safety briefings and operational checks
- Monitor trail conditions and weather, adjusting operations as needed
- Ensure guides and guests follow proper riding and safety protocols
- Document and report incidents, injuries, or equipment issues
Training & Team Development
- Train new Trail Guides on safety procedures, guest engagement, and vehicle operation
- Coach and mentor team members to improve performance and consistency
- Model professionalism, leadership, and strong guest‑service standards
- Assist with performance feedback and seasonal staffing needs
Guest Experience
- Ensure every guest receives a fun, safe, and memorable experience
- Step in to guide rides or assist guests when needed
- Support check‑in processes, waivers, and guest flow during peak times
- Represent AOAP positively and professionally at all times
Equipment & Communication
- Oversee daily pre‑ and post‑ride vehicle inspections
- Communicate maintenance needs to the Maintenance/Facilities team
- Maintain clear communication with resort leadership regarding operations, staffing, and trail conditions
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Side‑by‑Side (SxS) vehicles and off‑road riding
- Prior experience leading or supervising outdoor recreation staff
- Demonstrated understanding of off‑road safety practices
- Ability to confidently lead teams and manage group activities
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer‑service skills
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in high‑energy or emergency situations
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically able to stand, walk, ride, and assist guests throughout the day
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be at least 21 years old
Preferred (But Not Required)
- Previous experience as a trail guide, lead guide, or activities manager
- Mechanical knowledge or basic vehicle maintenance experience
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
