We’re looking for an engaging, highly organized, and innovative Training Manager to build and scale a training function that accelerates growth, ensures compliance, and strengthens our culture. Ideal candidates are energized by designing, developing, and delivering impactful training programs that build employee skills, reinforce compliance, introduce key technology systems, and bring our culture and values to life. This role will focus on both building a foundational training function from the ground up and delivering engaging, high-quality training content. From onboarding to compliance, values, technology, and leadership development, the Training Manager will quickly become a subject matter expert across multiple areas and create training that helps employees thrive.
This position requires an exceptional communicator who can make complex topics and systems simple and engaging, someone who is equally comfortable building decks, creating e-learning modules, or leading a room full of learners. The Training Manager will collaborate closely with department leaders to assess needs, design and deliver training, and measure outcomes. This is a hybrid role reporting to our HQ in Ann Arbor, MI, with approximately 25% domestic travel.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead and continuously improve onboarding programs to ensure a consistent, engaging, and high-impact experience for new employees.
- Assess training needs across all departments, partnering with leaders to identify skills gaps, compliance requirements, and performance improvement opportunities.
- Design, develop, and deliver training content (manuals, handbooks, decks, e-learning modules, videos) that is clear, engaging, and aligned with business needs.
- Quickly research and master new subject areas (such as HRIS tools, technology, or quality/compliance processes) in order to train others effectively.
- Collaborate with different functional teams to deliver compliance, regulatory, and systems training (e.g., SAP, Expensify, QA).
- Facilitate learning using multiple methods, including in-person, virtual, workshops, and on-the-job coaching.
- Create systems to track, measure, and report training outcomes, ensuring training effectiveness and compliance records are accurate.
- Link training initiatives to key business metrics (engagement, productivity, compliance rates).
- Market training opportunities internally, encouraging participation by highlighting personal and professional benefits.
- Coordinate logistics for all training activities, including scheduling, technology, and vendor partnerships.
- Stay current on adult learning principles, instructional design best practices, and training technology trends to continuously improve programs.
- Drive company values and culture through all training and development initiatives.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, or related field.
- Professional certification in training/instructional design preferred (e.g., ATD, CPTD).
- 5+ years’ experience in training and development, including instructional design and facilitation.
- 3+ years’ experience designing and delivering engaging training programs across multiple formats (classroom, e-learning, and virtual) to diverse employee groups.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theory, and multiple training methodologies.
- 5+ years’ hands-on experience with content development tools.
- 3+ years’ hands-on experience using an LMS.
- Proven ability to become a subject matter expert quickly and train others with clarity and confidence.
- Exceptional communication skills with a motivational and engaging style; able to adjust delivery to suit diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
