Job Summary

This position reports to the University of Michigan's Navigate training program manager in the Finance-Sponsored Programs office. You'll partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) across U-M campuses to design and deliver high-quality training resources and materials for the research and central administration community-supporting topics like financials, HR, compliance and related sponsored project lifecycle management. This is a collaborative, fast-paced role for someone who enjoys building clear learning experiences and keeping training operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities*

• Design, create and update training content in multiple modalities (slides, eLearning modules, job aids, videos, virtual interactive activities) and continuously improve materials based on feedback and outcomes.
• Create learning experiences for virtual instructor-led, blended, and asynchronous training using best practices and instructional tools.
• Administer and coordinate training programs, including scheduling, creating and maintaining registration/applications, creating surveys, evaluating sessions for continuous improvement, drafting and proofreading communications for a variety of materials (email, presentations, job aids, website content, etc).
• Manage course and webinar logistics technology setup and administration, materials, participant experience, tracking completion/attendance.
• Maintain organized documentation and records (course resources, action items, outcomes, stakeholder meeting notes) across platforms such as Canvas, My LINC, Google Drive, and related tools.
• Manage multiple projects at once, track deliverables, follow up on open items and collaborate effectively with SMEs, colleagues, and stakeholders who have competing priorities.

Required Qualifications*

• - or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience.
• Demonstrated ability to absorb new information quickly, validate understanding with subject-matter experts, and produce clear, concise, and user-friendly language in a variety of formats for professional audiences.
• Demonstrated expertise in creating and editing videos with audio content and visual learning assets.
• Proficiency in designing graphics, infographics, job aids and other visual aids for training materials.
• Demonstrated exemplary writing and editing skills, with high attention to detail and solid proofreading skills.
• Working knowledge of design software and photo/video editing software such as Canvas (or similar LMS), Articulate (Storyline/Rise), Camtasia/Adobe, Photoshop.
• Comfort with ambiguity and taking initiative in clarifying expectations in assignments or project goals, outcomes or deliverables.
• Strong organization skills, and ability to prioritize tasks in a changing environment.
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards for training materials.
• Ability to develop positive working relationships and collaborate successfully with others from all areas of the University, as well as diverse experiences and backgrounds.

Desired Qualifications*

• Proven experience developing training materials for staff or research administrators in higher education.
• Familiarity with university policies and procedures.

Modes of Work

This position is eligible for remote work. Occasional on-site presence in Ann Arbor, MI may be required. You are required to have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a designated working space in your home. Equipment, including a laptop and monitor, will be provided for your use.
