Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in Asset Management, Maintenance & Reliability, Lifecycle Management, Testing & Commissioning, and Quality Control to support the planning, operation, and optimization of transmission assets.
The role plays a critical part in enhancing the performance, longevity, and efficiency of the transmission network, working across Asset Management, Commissioning Services, and Quality Control departments in alignment with international standards and national energy strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of Asset Management Plans for transmission infrastructure (substations, overhead lines, underground cables, etc.)
- Recommend refurbishment, replacement, or maintenance strategies based on asset condition assessments and health index calculations
- Prepare long-term asset criticality assessment programs and ensure execution of required actions for highly critical assets
- Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, design, protection, and related teams
- Analyze maintenance and failure data to enhance asset reliability and optimize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs
- Identify network performance and reliability gaps and implement improvement initiatives
- Report potential hazards and operational risks and follow up for corrective action
- Conduct and support testing & commissioning activities of transmission assets
- Review relay settings to confirm proper configuration and application
- Evaluate and enhance Quality Control systems and project execution standards
- Contribute to full lifecycle management (planning to decommissioning)
- Ensure alignment with ISO 55001 Asset Management standards
- Participate in asset management maturity assessments and improvement initiatives
- Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and investment justifications
- Monitor KPIs related to asset performance and system reliability
- Support integration of advanced Asset Management tools (e.g., IBM Maximo, IBM APM, GIS)
- Ensure compliance with national regulations and international best practices
- Support audits, benchmarking, and vendor engagement activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in:
- Asset Management
- Maintenance & Reliability
- System Design & Protection Engineering
- CAPEX planning (greenfield & brownfield)
- Testing & Commissioning
- Quality Control within electrical power systems
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, protection systems, etc.)
- Practical knowledge of ISO 55001 Asset Management Systems
- Experience in reliability engineering concepts (RCM, FMEA, Failure Data Analysis)
- Experience with asset investment planning tools (IBM Maximo, SAP PM, Copperleaf – preferred)
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent English communication skills (Arabic is an advantage)

- Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) / IAM Certificate
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
- ISO 55001 Lead Auditor
