1. Donor Management

  • Identify potential donors (living or deceased) in hospitals and ensure timely referral.
  • Evaluate donor suitability — review medical history, lab results, and diagnostic tests.
  • Coordinate donor maintenance (for brain-dead donors) to preserve organ function.
  • Obtain consent from families for organ/tissue donation, ensuring ethical and legal compliance.
  • Coordinate organ retrieval procedures and logistics with surgical and transport teams.

2. Recipient Management

  • Assist in evaluating transplant candidates — collect medical, psychological, and social data.
  • Educate patients and families about the transplant process, potential risks, and post-transplant care.
  • Ensure compatibility testing (HLA typing, cross-matching, blood grouping) is performed and documented.
  • Prepare and update the recipient waiting list according to established protocols and priority criteria.
  • Notify recipients and coordinate pre-operative preparation when an organ becomes available
  • 3. Coordination and Communication
  • Act as a liaison among multidisciplinary teams — surgeons, nephrologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, nurses, and lab personnel.
  • Coordinate organ allocation and transportation in compliance with national and institutional guidelines (e.g., NOTTO, UNOS, NHSBT).
  • Ensure timely documentation of all processes related to donor and recipient care.
  • Communicate with external agencies, such as organ sharing networks, other hospitals, and legal authorities.

4. Education and Counseling

  • Provide education and counseling to donors, recipients, and families throughout the transplant journey.
  • Conduct community awareness programs to promote organ donation.
  • Train other healthcare professionals in organ donation and transplant coordination practices.

5. Administrative and Legal Responsibilities

  • Maintain records and reports of all transplants, donations, and follow-up outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with national transplant laws and hospital policies.
  • Assist in audits and quality assurance programs related to transplantation services.
  • Participate in ethics committees or review boards when needed.

6. Post-Transplant Follow-Up

  • Monitor recipient recovery — coordinate follow-up appointments, lab tests, and medication adherence.
  • Identify complications early and communicate with the transplant team for timely intervention.
  • Provide ongoing emotional and social support to transplant recipients and their families.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
