The Transport In-Charge is responsible for planning, managing, and supervising the school’s transportation system to ensure the safe, punctual, and efficient movement of students and staff. The role focuses on safety compliance, route management, vehicle maintenance coordination, and staff supervision.

Key ResponsibilitiesTransportation Operations

  • Plan and manage daily school bus routes and schedules.
  • Ensure timely pickup and drop-off of students.
  • Monitor transportation operations and resolve route or timing issues.
  • Arranging transport for various events like extra classes/ picnics/ field trips etc and keeping the record for the same.
  • Ensure smooth functioning of Transport App and sort out related queries
  • Bus re-routing.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all transport operations comply with school policies and government transport regulations.
  • Implement and monitor safety procedures for students during travel.
  • Conduct regular safety drills and awareness programs for drivers and attendants.
  • Maintain records of vehicle fitness, permits, insurance, and pollution certificates.

Vehicle Management

  • Supervise maintenance, servicing, and cleanliness of school vehicles.
  • Coordinate repairs and inspections with authorized service providers.
  • Maintain logs for vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and repairs.

Staff Supervision

  • Supervise drivers, conductors/attendants, and transport staff.
  • Verify driver licenses, training, and behavior standards.
  • Prepare duty rosters and manage attendance of transport staff.

Student & Parent Coordination

  • Address transport-related concerns from parents and guardians.
  • Communicate route changes, delays, or emergencies promptly.
  • Ensure discipline and proper conduct of students during transit.

Emergency Management

  • Act promptly in case of breakdowns, accidents, or emergencies.
  • Coordinate with school authorities, parents, and emergency services as required.
  • Prepare incident reports and follow up on corrective actions.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate transport records and reports.
  • Submit regular updates to school management on transport operations and safety compliance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum qualification: High school diploma (graduate preferred).
  • Experience in transport/logistics management, preferably in a school or institution.
  • Knowledge of local transport laws and child safety norms.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹9,924.17 - ₹25,000.00 per month
