We are one of Mumbai’s most trusted and licensed Custom House Agents (CHA) with over 22 years of excellence in customs clearance, international freight forwarding (air & sea), project cargo, warehousing, and door-to-door logistics. To support our aggressive expansion and the launch of our own dedicated Transport Division (Container & Trailer Fleet), we are looking for a seasoned Transport Manager who can set up, manage, and scale this new vertical from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead the entire surface transport vertical (owned + attached fleet of 20ft/40ft containers, trailers, open-body trucks & LCVs)
• Plan and execute daily routing & scheduling for local, upcountry, and factory-to-port movements across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, MP, Delhi-NCR, South India
• Recruit, train, and manage drivers, cleaners, and transport supervisors
• Negotiate and maintain long-term contracts with transporters, trailer owners, and attachment vendors
• Ensure 100% on-time pick-up and delivery of export/import containers to/from Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Hazira, ICDs, and CFSs (Maharashtra to Gujarat)
• Track and control transport costs – diesel, toll, RTO, maintenance, driver data, loading/unloading charges
• Implement GPS tracking, FASTag management, and real-time shipment visibility for customers
• Handle container tracking, demurrage/detention monitoring, and coordination with shipping lines & terminals
• Manage E-way bill, transport permits, border check-post compliance, and RTO documentation
• Resolve day-to-day operational issues (breakdowns, accidents, police cases, driver disputes)
• Achieve monthly targets on volume, revenue, and profitability of the transport division
• Prepare MIS reports: cost per trip, per KM, per ton, profit per job, vehicle utilization, etc.
• Track all containers and keep its maintenance record.

Required Experience & Skills

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in surface transport management (container/trailer/FTL operations)
• Prior experience in a CHA, freight forwarding, liner agency, or large transport company is highly preferred
• Proven track record of managing a fleet of 20+ vehicles and a team of 30+ drivers/supervisors
• Excellent knowledge of Maharashtra, Gujarat, North & South India routes, tolls, borders, and check-posts
• Strong negotiation skills with transporters and vendors
• Familiarity with GPS systems (preferably experience with platforms like MapMyIndia, Transight, AllCargo, etc.)
• Good command over English & Hindi (Marathi/Gujarati is a plus) for driver & vendor communication
• Ability to handle pressure, night calls, and emergency situations calmly and professionally
• Proficient in MS Excel, WhatsApp coordination, and basic transport software
• Valid LMV/HMV driving license is an advantage
