https://www.christinak12.org/fs/resource-manager/view/0e7c11a0-176c-47ad-a754-635cf5a32448JOB SUMMARY: The Transportation Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for the full range of inventory functions, including developing and implementing inventory control processes, receiving and issuing parts, monitoring & ordering fuel, establish and maintain an orderly and efficient stockroom(s).
Qualifications: The Inventory Control Clerk requires knowledge of automotive/heavy truck components and system. This position also requires knowledge of information technology and inventory management systems with a special reference in buses or heavy equipment. Stockroom and warehousing experience is required. The ability to adapt the application of current and evolving information technology to the workload is required.
- Skills & Abilities: Demonstrate strong self-motivational, time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented. Possess the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently under general supervision. Ability to organize complex materials and manage multiple storerooms and projects.
- Computer Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel & Power Point. Experience and knowledge of inventory management software and/or information systems.
- Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and create positive connections with co-workers, vendors and customers. Ability to meet goals to increase efficiency improving customer service.
- Minimum Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and Five (5) years’ experience working in an inventory control or warehousing environment.
- Required Certificates/Registrations: Certified underground storage tank management training is preferred and required within 6 months of employment. Forklift certified preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret common inventory control literature, reports and spreadsheets. The ability to respond to inquiries. The ability to produce written and or oral reports and present the information clearly and effectively. Bilingual is a plus.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with significant mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to maintain a level and appropriate business demeanor. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:- Establish & evaluate a fast-moving parts list and adjust replenishment levels accordingly
- Order & receive fuel deliveries and maintain required documentation
- Order replacement parts and manage inventory levels
- Develop and stock common part kits for standard tasks
- Organize and maintain storeroom(s) in an orderly and clean condition
- Issue parts to maintenance staff and record transactions accordingly
- Complete reconciliation processes
- Other duties as assigned
Technical Skills:- Must remain proficient with Original Equipment Manufacture’s (OEM) on-line parts look-up and ordering/warranty processes
- Conduct 1/12 inventory audit functions
- Data entry using inventory modules or software
Collaboration:- Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Work closely with shop foreman and mechanics to insure the correct and most cost-effective parts are stocked or ordered when required
Compliance:- Ensure scope of work activities remain in compliance to all applicable Christina School District policies, local, state and federal guidelines and laws
- Performs other duties as assigned
