Transportation Office Assistant
Sofidel America, a global leader in tissue paper manufacturing, is seeking a Transportation Office Assistant to support our logistics team at our Lewiston, ID location. This role is responsible for scheduling freight, preparing shipping documents, and coordinating with internal teams and customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills are essential in this fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and arrange freight for outbound products and materials across all domestic Sofidel locations
- Determine appropriate transportation methods for customer deliveries and coordinate with customer traffic departments to confirm appointments
- Use SAP to create and manage shipping documents
- Collaborate with internal departments to monitor shipment accuracy and timeliness
- Use Transporeon TMS system to create receiving appointments and manage schedules
- Work closely with Customer Service to prioritize sales orders and track shipments
- Research and recommend alternate carriers to improve pricing and delivery efficiency
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially via email
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to multitask and work independently under pressure
- Proven customer service skills, both internal and external
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
