Cornerstone Healing Center is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and professional Transportation Specialist to support our behavioral health and recovery programs.

This role provides non-emergency medical transportation and frontline operational support to clients, housing staff, and the clinical team. The Transportation Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring safe, respectful, and compliant transport services while supporting day-to-day facility operations.

This is a client-facing position requiring strong boundaries, emotional intelligence, and the ability to remain calm in dynamic situations.

Position Summary:

The Transportation Specialist provides safe and reliable transportation for clients while ensuring compliance with program guidelines and safety standards. This individual works closely with housing operations and the clinical team to support client care before, during, and after transport.

This role requires knowledge of 12-step recovery principles, basic behavioral health awareness, and the ability to provide de-escalation and supportive engagement when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Transportation & Client Support:

· Provide safe, non-emergency transportation for clients to and from appointments, meetings, admissions, and program-related activities

· Conduct basic behavioral health observation and assessment before and after transport

· Monitor client presentation and report concerns to clinical or housing staff as appropriate

· Maintain professional boundaries while providing compassionate support

· De-escalate issues that may arise during transportation

Operational & Facility Support

· Support day-to-day housing operations as needed

· Ensure clients follow program guidelines during transport and at facilities

· Communicate effectively with clinical and housing teams regarding client status

· Maintain professionalism and structure in client interactions

Compliance & Documentation

· Maintain accurate driving logs and vehicle documentation

· Complete required incident reports and communication logs

· Conduct routine vehicle inspections and ensure cleanliness and safety

· Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws

· Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 21 years of age

· Valid and active driver’s license with clean driving record

· Current certification or ability to achieve Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) within 45-days of hire

· Qualified as a BHT or BHPP subject to Cornerstone Healing Center policy

· Certified CPR/First Aid

Knowledge, Abilities, and Attitudes Required:

1. Knowledge of Twelve Step Recovery.

2. Working Knowledge and ability to protect client rights

3. Knowledge to apply HIPAA and protect confidentiality at all times.

4. Ability to provide lived experience and solution-oriented support.

5. Ability to operate a vehicle and assist clients getting in and out of vehicle

6. Knowledge of the rules of the road, including defensive driving techniques.

7. Ability to pass a driving test, eye sight test, and DMV record check.

8. Ability to lift 30 pounds, navigate stairs and utilize basic maintenance tools and equipment.

9. Ability to perform basic cleaning and home maintenance duties.

10. Demonstrates the competencies required for this position, including the practice of program policies and procedures, and implementing these duties.

11. Ability to provide timely transportation according to the schedule for client(s) medical appointments, clinical appointments, outpatient treatment center commitments and other community based-service meetings, court, and other client related clinical/health needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
