Transportation Supervisor

TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR

DEPARTMENT: Human Services Department

LOCATION: 2160 Old Selma Road

NORMAL WORKING HOURS: Monday – Sunday, Routes vary

REPORTS TO: Human Services Manager

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Transportation Vehicle Operators, Transportation Safety Aides

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Overseas all TAC transportation operations, Creates schedule for drivers, Daily route schedule and vehicles maintenance.

2. Operate TAC’s bus/van to transport assigned riders as needed. (Cross reference other transportation position descriptions.)

3. Orients/trains/supervises assigned Staff.

4. Sets /monitors/ensures Staff compliance to departmental/program/state and federal rules and regulations.

5. Scheduled Staff to ensure coverage/individual safety and well-being.

6. Assists in selecting, establishing and altering bus routes and/or schedules.

7. Responsible for daily communication and operation of transportation services.

8. Monitors vehicle pool (e.g., assigns vehicles to Staff upon authorization, checks them in and out, keeps pool records).

9. Maintains accurate and all applicable documentation of services, billing records, etc.

10. Follows all motor vehicle laws.

11. Performs other related duties as required, to include but not limited to: serving on committees, assisting and informing Staff of their duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

1. Negative Results Non-DOT Drug Screening.

2. Satisfactory Results of Local and State Records Background Check.

3. Valid State Driver’s License with no more than 6 points on Abstract Driver Record

4. Satisfactory Non-DOT physical examination

5. Ability to handle physical and emotional riders

6. Must be able to functionally use a tablet for documentation of services rendered.

7. Ability to communicate effectively

8. Ability to recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate actions

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

1. High School Diploma/GED Required

2. Active Drivers License

3. Preferred experience working in mass transit setting; supervisory experience preferred

POST HIRE REQUIRED TRAINING, CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATION, AND LICENSURE:

Tac Orientation, CPR/First Aid Training, and all other Position Required Training

RELATED FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintains confidentiality

2. Maintains the chain of command

3. Demonstrates and maintains regular attendance per work schedule and TAC Attendance Practices

4. Is aware of and adheres to personnel manual and department rules and regulations

5. Provides accurate and timely records as required by the position.

6. Other duties as may be required by the supervisor and TAC
