Transportation Supervisor

Vesta Foodservice Headquartered in Southern California is a leading foodservice distributor of fresh produce, dairy & specialty grocery items; double digit growth over the past 10 years, covering the distribution area of Northern California, Southern California, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Hawaii.

At Vesta Foodservice , you will be working with some of the most prestigious restaurants, hotels and food service operations in the world.

Vesta Foodservice has been supplying white table cloth restaurants, hotels, country clubs, and corporate groups for over 30 years with the finest Fresh Produce, Dairy, and Specialty Products. Our program includes cheeses, oils, nuts and dried fruits, pasta, pastry ingredients, and much more.

We are currently looking for a TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR for our distribution center in Hayward, CA.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Supervise a pre-set team of route and drivers
• Assure timely dispatch of routes
• Ensure vehicles are in top working condition for next day's operation
• Perform all daily dispatch duties
• Complete all dispatch and route logs
• Hire, train, discipline drivers
• Communicate with Sales staff
• Utilize company tools such as Produce Pro, cellular devices & NOVAtime to assist with daily tasks
• Requirements
• Candidate must have clean DMV record and pass a road driving test
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Excellent Math, English and speaking skills
• Able to handle pressure, complete projects and meet deadlines
• Distribution, previous Management and/or Produce Industry experience a plus
• Ability to work with management and administrative level customers both internally and externally
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to multi task
• Excellent computer skills required (PC, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & Produce Pro)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour
