We are North Shore Medical Center. Our primary function is to offer continuous nursing, medical, and other health and social services on a 24-hour basis, under physician directed care and RN supervision.

Position Summary

Performs all the necessary responsibilities required to transport patients to and from various patient care areas and departments within the hospital. Interacts primarily with adult and geriatric patients. It transports patients of all ages from the Emergency Services Department to all subsection areas of the hospital in a friendly, professional and ethical manner. Maintains transport equipment. Transport patients with the attendance of nursing personnel. Maybe be crossed trained to perform clerical and film file room duties. Must be able to walk for extended periods. Strength and coordination are required. A pleasant personality for public relations is required. Consults clerical receptionist and or/technical supervisor for priority transport. Schedule flexibility. Position

Qualifications/Education/Skills:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• BLS Certification
• CPI - (On the Job Training)
• Prior hospital or other healthcare experience as a Transporter, Aide, or Orderly preferred.
• Effective communication skills in the English Language
• Preferred transport experience.
• Must be accurate with names and numbers
• Must be self-motivated once job duties are learned and should be able to work with minimal supervision.
