Job Overview:

We are seeking a Travel Clerk to support federal travel operations for the National Institute of Standards and Technology. This role assists with reviewing, processing, and validating travel authorizations, vouchers, and related documentation. The ideal candidate has experience with federal travel regulations, strong attention to detail, and prior work in a financial or administrative support environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process travel orders and vouchers including TDY, long-term travel, and relocations.
  • Review and validate travel documentation for compliance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR).
  • Analyze and correct travel errors, invalid submissions, and deobligation requests.
  • Support reconciliation of travel accounts and financial reporting.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding travel policies, status updates, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Assist with travel audits, data calls, and documentation requests from internal and external agencies.
  • Coordinate with financial systems and support travel data accuracy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, Administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting federal travel processing.
  • Strong knowledge of travel regulations, voucher processing, and customer service practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple actions simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with E2 Solutions, ConcurGov, or other federal travel systems.
  • Experience supporting NIST, DOC, or other civilian agencies.
  • Understanding of federal accounting or budget execution processes.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $35,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
