Travel Consultant
Job Summary:
The Travel Consultant is responsible for designing, planning, and selling customized domestic and international holiday packages to individual, group, and corporate clients. The role involves understanding customer requirements, suggesting suitable destinations, preparing itineraries and quotations, handling bookings, and ensuring a smooth travel experience from enquiry to post-travel feedback.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Client Handling
- Attend to inbound and outbound travel enquiries (calls, walk-ins, online leads).
- Understand client requirements — travel dates, budget, preferences, and special needs.
- Recommend suitable destinations, itineraries, and hotel options.
- Prepare customized quotations and detailed travel itineraries for domestic and international packages.
- Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings by effective communication and persuasive selling.
- Maintain follow-up with clients from enquiry to post-travel feedback.
2. Itinerary Planning & Quotation
- Design tailor-made packages including flights, hotels, transfers, sightseeing, and activities.
- Coordinate with DMCs (Destination Management Companies), airlines, and suppliers for best rates.
- Prepare cost sheets, quotations, and final proposals with accurate pricing and inclusions.
- Ensure timely and competitive offers aligned with client budgets.
3. Booking & Operations
- Handle reservations for flights, hotels, visas, transfers, and tours.
- Prepare and deliver travel documents (vouchers, tickets, insurance, etc.).
- Ensure all bookings are reconfirmed before the client’s departure.
- Coordinate with vendors, local partners, and on-ground teams for seamless service delivery.
- Handle amendments, cancellations, or emergencies during travel promptly and professionally.
4. Product Knowledge & Market Research
- Stay updated on new destinations, hotels, attractions, and travel trends.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of visa requirements, currency rates, and travel regulations.
- Develop and update destination information and promotional content for marketing.
- Participate in travel trade fairs, training sessions, and supplier presentations.
5. Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients through excellent service.
- Maintain client database with complete travel history and preferences.
- Collect feedback after trips to improve service quality and encourage repeat business.
- Handle complaints or issues with patience and professionalism.
6. Team Coordination & Reporting
- Collaborate with colleagues, ticketing, and accounts departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Submit daily/weekly sales and lead reports to management.
- Support marketing initiatives such as social media promotions, offers, and newsletters.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong destination and product knowledge (Domestic + International).
- Sales-oriented with persuasive negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and multitasking ability.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and online booking platforms.
- Problem-solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.
Qualification & Experience:
- Graduate in Travel & Tourism / Hospitality / Commerce / Any related field.
- Minimum 0–2 years of experience as a Travel Consultant in domestic and international holidays.
- Experience in dealing with DMCs, B2B suppliers, and direct clients preferred.
- Knowledge of Amadeus / Galileo (for flight bookings) is an added advantage.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, 6 days a week (10.30 AM - 7.30 PM).
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
