Description

American Traveler is hiring an LPN/LVN with LTC/SNF experience for a 13-week night shift contract at a post-acute care facility in Canistota, SD, serving an elder population including patients in a behavioral health program.

Details

• 55-bed long-term care/skilled nursing facility (LTC/SNF) in a post-acute care setting
• Patient population consists primarily of elderly residents with dementia; facility also operates a behavioral health program serving patients with diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia
• Overnight shift patient ratio is approximately 1:45; a med aide is available from 6:00–10:00 PM
• 12-hour night shifts (1800–0630), rotating 3 shifts one week and 4 shifts the next
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required when holidays fall within your scheduled block
• Uses Point Click Care (PCC) EMR
• No on-call or call-back shifts available

Requirements

• Current LPN/LVN license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of LPN/LVN experience required
• LTC/SNF experience required; geriatric psych or behavioral health LTC experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Availability for overnight 12-hour block scheduling with every-other-weekend rotation

Additional Information

• Orientation includes a facility tour, competency review, and the opportunity to shadow 1–2 shifts
• Most skilled and COVID-related charting is handled on the day shift; overnight responsibilities focus on direct patient care
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and will be placed at the local pay rate
• 13-week assignment
