Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist with 1+ year of acute care experience for a 13-week contract at a hospital-based inpatient rehabilitation unit in Carlsbad, NM.

Details

• Inpatient rehabilitation setting within a 99-bed facility, including 10 inpatient rehab beds and 15 swing beds
• Day shift position, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday with one Saturday per month
• 1:1 patient ratio
• No floating required
• No call required
• EMR system is MedHost
• Holiday coverage is required

Requirements

• Active NM OT license or applicable state licensure required; license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1+ year of recent OT experience required
• Acute care experience required
• No certification expirations within the first 30 days of the contract start date
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing OT evaluations and treatments, developing and modifying age-appropriate care plans, attending care plan meetings, and participating in discharge planning
• The OT will also support performance improvement initiatives and administrative duties as assigned
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
