Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with acute care experience for a 13-week hospital assignment in Apple Valley, CA, working Tuesday–Saturday day shifts with Epic EMR required.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 212 staffed beds
• Schedule is Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM (5x8 shifts)
• 13-week contract
• Patient population includes geriatric, orthopedic, cardiac, post-stroke, and ICU patients, as well as ER and med-surg cases
• Clinical focus areas include total hip/knee replacement, hip fractures, gait training, COPD, CHF, CABG, and MI
• Procedures and skills include AROM/AAROM/PROM, assistive device training, gait belt use, body mechanics, pain assessment, skin integrity checks, strength testing, and vital signs monitoring
• Epic EMR required
• Free parking on-site
• Travelers may be required to float between facilities within the state

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of acute care physical therapy experience required
• Current CA PT license required; license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency with patient and family education, home exercise program development, and discharge planning
• Experience with assistive devices including standard walkers, crutches, gait belts, and hospital beds
• Ability to perform lifting and transfers
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
