Responsibilities
- Circulate and recover patients in the OR, PACU, and endoscopy suites; support general ambulatory procedures and endoscopic cases (EGD, colonoscopy)
- Prepare rooms, maintain sterile technique, and assist with instrument handling during procedures such as laparoscopic/appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and joint replacements
- Monitor patient status intra- and post-operatively, including cardiac monitoring, vital signs, and response to code scenarios
- Administer medications per protocol, document care in the charting system, and ensure accurate handoffs to postoperative teams
- Collaborate with Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary to coordinate patient care and resource needs
- Adapt to floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliates as required, while maintaining 1:1 patient assignments when applicable
Requirements
- Active California RN license in hand
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (copies required prior to start)
- Endoscopy experience required; minimum 1 year RN experience
- Ability to circulate and recover across OR and PACU environments; comfortable performing endoscopy support duties
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Eligibility to work in a rural setting and to float within the facility or affiliate network as needed
