Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a 12-hour day shift contract position at an inpatient hospital in Montana.

Details

  • Inpatient hospital respiratory therapy department
  • 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
  • May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
  • May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Graduate of an NBRC-approved, accredited Respiratory Therapist program
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Active state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience
  • Current BLS certification (AHA-issued; must not expire prior to start date)
  • Epic EMR experience
  • DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Performs, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic testing procedures, including arterial blood gas collection, in accordance with protocol
  • Administers medications safely and evaluates patient response, communicating progress to physicians, nurses, and other departments
  • Initiates and manages Respiratory Care Protocols based on clinical assessment and departmental criteria
  • Troubleshoots and oversees respiratory equipment to ensure optimal patient care
  • Educates patients and families on self-care techniques and health promotion
  • Serves as a resource, consultant, and mentor to CRT staff and may participate in special clinical projects as designated by department leadership
  • Participates in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and departmental meetings
  • Former permanent staff must have been separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for this travel assignment
