American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a 12-hour day shift contract position at an inpatient hospital in Montana.

Inpatient hospital respiratory therapy department

12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
-
May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
-
May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift

Uses Epic for charting

Graduate of an NBRC-approved, accredited Respiratory Therapist program
-
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
-
Active state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (license required if applicable)

Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience

Current BLS certification (AHA-issued; must not expire prior to start date)

Epic EMR experience

DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Performs, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic testing procedures, including arterial blood gas collection, in accordance with protocol

Administers medications safely and evaluates patient response, communicating progress to physicians, nurses, and other departments

Initiates and manages Respiratory Care Protocols based on clinical assessment and departmental criteria

Troubleshoots and oversees respiratory equipment to ensure optimal patient care

Educates patients and families on self-care techniques and health promotion
-
Serves as a resource, consultant, and mentor to CRT staff and may participate in special clinical projects as designated by department leadership

Participates in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and departmental meetings
-
Former permanent staff must have been separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for this travel assignment
