American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of ICU/floor experience for a night shift travel position at an acute care hospital in Michigan.

Inpatient Respiratory Therapy department at an acute care hospital in Michigan

ICU and general practice unit patient population

Experience with Puritan 980, Hamilton Transport, and Servo U ventilators is preferred
-
Arterial blood gas (ABG) competency required

Cerner EMR experience preferred

Night shift hours: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
-
5 days per week, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
-
Every other weekend rotation required
-
Every other holiday coverage required
-
13-week contract
-
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required — CRTs will not be accepted

Associate of Science degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program required; Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred

Registration with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required

Active Michigan Respiratory Therapist license required; license required if applicable

Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience required, with at least 1.5 years in an ICU or floor setting

BLS certification required (AHA-issued)

NRP certification preferred

Pediatric ICU and neonatal experience preferred

COVID vaccination required for eligibility
-
Delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gas therapy to ICU and general practice unit patients

Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures and maintains accurate patient care documentation
-
May supervise, direct, and delegate to respiratory therapy orientees, externs, and students as assigned
-
Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
-
Online orientation modules must be completed with a passing score, typically one week prior to start date
-
All RTO requests must be submitted prior to accepting an offer; requests made after the assignment begins will need manager approval
