Description

American Traveler is seeking a Director of Respiratory Therapy with proven leadership experience in acute and critical care for a multi-campus health system, requiring prior travel assignment experience and an active MA RRT license.

Details

  • Leadership role overseeing Respiratory Care, PFT Lab, Blood Gas Lab, Sleep Lab, and Cardiopulmonary Rehab departments across three hospital campuses
  • Serves both inpatient and outpatient populations across multiple age groups, including neonatal
  • Requires travel between three campuses as needed
  • Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts (8:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
  • No on-call required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • 26-week contract

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Care; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
  • Current Massachusetts State Respiratory Therapy license required (license required if applicable)
  • Certifications required: BLS and ACLS; NRP preferred
  • Strong background in acute care, critical care, pulmonary function testing, blood gas accreditation, and polysomnography
  • Experience in cardiopulmonary rehab and EEGs required; knowledge of neonatal respiratory care preferred
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage staff and budgets
  • At least one prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Two supervisory or managerial references from similar experience within the last 1–2 years required for consideration
  • AHA-issued certifications required
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites

Additional Information

  • Responsible for planning, directing, and managing all pulmonary services departments, including oversight of approximately 32 FTEs
  • Manages budgets, drives quality improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with JCAHO, CAP, OSHA, CDC, and DPH standards
  • Coordinates patient care with interdisciplinary teams and fosters professional development among staff
  • Maintains equipment and safety standards across departments
  • Bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • RTO is limited to no more than 5 days for the duration of the contract
  • Block scheduling is not permitted
  • Scrubs in any color are acceptable
  • Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at a local pay rate
  • Local candidates are accepted
