Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week night shift contract at a Level I Trauma acute care hospital in Colorado.

Details

  • Acute care inpatient setting at a Level I Trauma Center in Colorado
  • Adult patient population
  • Covers all areas of the hospital including emergency response
  • Provides a full range of respiratory modalities including medication delivery, invasive and non-invasive ventilator management, ABGs, pulmonary hygiene, hyperinflation therapy, patient transport of critically ill patients with artificial airway, and home oxygen assessment and coordination
  • Ventilator equipment includes the 980 ventilator and V60
  • Charting via Epic (experience required)
  • 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 6:45 AM
  • Every other weekend required, with potential for more if willing
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • No floating required
  • No on-call requirement

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
  • Active CO state license required; license required if applicable
  • Active certifications required (pending not accepted): BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NRP, and CRT (NBRC)
  • Active state or compact (NLC) licensure required at time of consideration; pending licenses will not be accepted
  • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • Valid driver's license required for consideration
  • Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

  • Assists with intubation (independent intubation not required)
  • A hospitalist or intensivist is always in-house; candidates will never be the only RT on the floor
  • Dress code: black pants and wine-colored top
  • Candidates must be in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are remote
  • Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit or affiliated facility (including CHI and/or Dignity) within the past year are not eligible; candidates placed PRN through outside firms will be considered
