American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Critical Access Hospital, covering all age ranges across inpatient, ER, and outpatient settings on a rotating day/night schedule.

Acute care setting at a Critical Access Hospital (CAH)

Respiratory Therapy department covering ER, inpatient, and some outpatient areas

All age ranges treated, from neonates (0) to geriatric (100+)

Daily treatment volume varies

Ventilator equipment includes PB980, Hamilton C1, and V60 BiPAP

Charting via MEDITECH
-
12-hour shifts rotating days and nights, 7a–7p and 7p–7a
-
Every 3rd weekend required

Holiday coverage required

No on-call or standby call requirement

13-week contract
-
Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience
-
Active ND Respiratory Therapy license required; license required if applicable
-
CRT required; RRT preferred
-
Active certifications required: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)

Preferred certifications: PALS and NRP
-
Ability to work independently, including as the sole RT in-house

MEDITECH experience preferred
-
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

Candidates must not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Valid driver's license required for consideration

Responsibilities include drawing ABGs, performing EKGs, and all standard respiratory therapy duties

A hospitalist or intensivist is available in-house 24/7
-
A respiratory supervisor or lead is only on-site Monday–Friday during day shift; travelers may be the sole RT in-house at other times
-
Orientation is 1–2 weeks depending on experience (approximately 12 orientation hours)

Scrub color is black, though any color is acceptable
-
Fit testing is required; candidates with facial hair must pass either the primary or secondary fit test (3M Aura 1860 or 3M 1870+); a PortaCount test is required if those are failed, and cannot be completed on individuals with facial hair — candidates who cannot remove facial hair and fail fit testing may have their contract canceled

RTO requests of 7 days or fewer per 13-week contract must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
