Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital in Cape Fear Valley, NC.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 733 staffed beds, designated as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Respiratory therapy unit serving both adult and pediatric ICU patients
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (18:00–06:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage is required; only one holiday off can be approved per contract
• Floating within the hospital or to a sister campus may be required based on facility needs
• On-call is not required
• Charts using Epic EMR
• Scrub color: solid black or black and white

Requirements

• CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Comfortable working with both adult and pediatric ICU patients
• Epic EMR experience required
• State or compact license required; pending license not accepted — license required if applicable
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
• Previous employees must have been away for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Night shift travelers may extend up to twice before needing to be away for 6 months prior to returning
• RTO is capped at 4 days per contract; RTO requests are subject to manager discretion
• No block scheduling available
• Any missed shifts due to call-outs may require a makeup shift at the department's discretion
• Pre-start orientation modules are required (estimated 4–10 hours) and must be completed prior to the start date
