Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with Epic experience and Level 1 Trauma background for a night shift position at an acute care hospital in Illinois.

Details

• Inpatient respiratory care department at an acute care hospital, including coverage in inpatient units and the Emergency Room
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week, 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts
• No on-call required
• Epic EMR — experience required
• Level 1 Trauma facility

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
• Illinois RCP license required if applicable
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Solid understanding of all aspects of respiratory care
• English proficiency required (speak, read, write)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing respiratory assessments on ventilator and general inpatient patients, obtaining and analyzing arterial, venous, and capillary blood gases, and evaluating patients for routine respiratory therapy
• Prepares, tests, operates, and performs routine maintenance checks on respiratory therapy equipment, reporting any malfunctions to management
• Accurately documents care, patient response, and charges in the EMR, including respiratory flow sheets, care plans, and sleep therapy documentation
• Assists with cleaning and restocking respiratory care equipment and supplies on inpatient units
• Time off (RTO) not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Travelers who have been on continuous assignment at this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
