American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with 2+ years of adult critical care and NICU experience for a night shift travel assignment at a short-term acute care teaching hospital.

Short-term acute care teaching hospital; member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals (COTH) with 338 staffed beds
-
NICU unit with floating required between Adult and NICU departments
-
Patient population includes neonatal and adult critical care patients
-
Procedures include airway management, endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, pulmonary hygiene, tracheostomy care, ABG interpretation, and assistance with high-risk deliveries

Ventilators used: Dräger V500, Dräger VN500, and Servo U
-
Respiratory modalities include HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP, mechanical ventilation weaning, and a wide range of inhaled medications and aerosol therapies

Charting via Cerner (experience preferred)

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Every other weekend required; holiday coverage expected

No on-call requirement

Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate

Active CRT license
-
MD state licensure required if applicable

BLS required
-
ACLS preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT in both adult critical care and NICU settings
-
At least 1 prior travel assignment completed
-
Proficiency with Dräger V500/VN500 and Servo U ventilators
-
Experience drawing and analyzing ABGs
-
ED experience preferred
-
Preferred skills include bronchoscopy, inhaled Flolan, nitric oxide (iNO), Mucomyst, Ketamine, Bicarbonate, and Theophylline
-
2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
-
Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Provide respiratory therapy services across adult critical care and NICU patient populations
-
Responsibilities include airway management, administration of inhaled medications, operation of non-invasive and invasive ventilatory support, umbilical blood gas collection, and sputum specimen collection
-
Scrubs are not provided; ceil blue scrub color required
