Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with 2+ years of experience in respiratory and neuro diagnostics for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting — Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma, teaching facility with 632 staffed beds
  • Respiratory and neuro diagnostics unit serving both pediatric and adult critical care populations
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
  • Every third weekend required
  • No on-call requirement
  • No floating required
  • Epic EMR — experience required; training provided during orientation
  • Ventilator equipment includes Servo I and Hamilton G5
  • Respiratory care scope includes airway management, vent management, BiPAP, CPAP, nebulizer, O2 therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, and medication administration
  • Neuro diagnostics scope includes O2 saturation monitoring/sleep studies
  • Free parking available with badge access to parking garage

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
  • Pediatric and adult critical care experience required
  • ER and adult ICU setting experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Active Michigan (MI) state license required by start date — compact license not accepted in MI; license required if applicable
  • Proof of high school level education required (regardless of higher education credentials)
  • Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and CRTT
  • AHA-issued certifications preferred
  • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
  • Former core staff members must have a minimum 1-year gap before returning — eligibility should be verified prior to consideration
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory and neuro diagnostic care to both pediatric and adult critical care patients
  • Orientation includes completion of pre-start modules, which vary by specialty
  • Burgundy/wine scrubs required
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates — no radius rule applies
  • RTO must be submitted at the time of profile; a maximum of 5 days RTO is allowed per assignment
  • 13-week assignment
