American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with combined NICU/PICU experience for a 13-week night shift contract at a hospital pulmonary unit in New Mexico.

Inpatient hospital setting, pulmonary department
-
NICU and PICU patient populations, as well as adult critical care, progressive care, med-surg, and general pediatrics
-
Experience with high frequency oscillation and jet ventilation required within the unit
-
12-hour night shifts, 1900–0730, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
-
Varied shift assignments; block scheduling is not available
-
On-call, weekend, and holiday coverage required
-
Floating required within the facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of the primary assigned location

Epic EMR preferred; on-site training available
-
13-week contract with potential extension to 26 weeks based on need
-
Associate's degree or Diploma in Respiratory Care
-
Minimum 2 years of combined current experience in NICU and PICU
-
6–12 months of experience in adult critical care, progressive care, med-surg, and/or general pediatrics

Must have initiated and managed high frequency oscillation and jet ventilation within the past 2 years
-
New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License required if applicable

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
-
Current BLS certification (AHA, AHSA, or ARC)

Current ACLS certification (AHA, AHSA, or ARC)

Current NRP or NALS certification (AHA)
-
Current PALS certification (AHA, AHSA, or ARC)

Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

English proficiency required (speaking, reading, and writing)

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Provides cardiopulmonary diagnostic and respiratory therapeutic support for inpatient and outpatient populations requiring diagnostic testing, respiratory treatment, and/or ventilatory support

Former employees of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler

Candidates traveling as a pair are not guaranteed the same schedules or shifts
-
A Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia test is administered on the first day of orientation; candidates must pass to remain in the assignment
