Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU experience for a night shift travel position in a hospital-based NICU setting in Washington State.

Details

  • Hospital-based NICU setting with additional respiratory therapy coverage across departments
  • Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • Patient load of approximately 5 ventilators and 6–8 RVUs per shift
  • Ventilators used include Draeger and Servo I (both required)
  • Proficiency with a wide range of airway management, nebulizer, and medication delivery systems required
  • Medication administration includes Nitric Oxide (iNO), Inhaled Flolan, Racemic Epinephrine, and other inhaled therapies
  • Ventilator management includes BiPAP, CPAP, High Frequency Oscillator, and weaning protocols
  • Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) Lab experience preferred
  • Epic EMR required
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
  • Weekend coverage is variable
  • Floating to other campuses/facilities within Washington State is required

Requirements

  • Active Washington State Respiratory Therapist license required if applicable
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • NICU experience required; PICU experience requirement has been waived by the manager
  • Required work setting experience: Adult Critical Care, ED, PICU, and Pediatrics
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Proficiency with Draeger and Servo I ventilators required
  • ABG interpretation and basic EKG skills required
  • Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include airway management, ventilator management, medication administration, and neonatal/pediatric respiratory procedures such as assisting in high-risk deliveries and umbilical blood gas collection
  • Additional skills in NIV/NAVA are a plus
  • Candidates who are former permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to be eligible
  • Former permanent staff must also reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • All travelers are expected to float between facilities within Washington State; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
  • Minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position; excessive RTO requests may impact placement
  • Any RTO or scheduling requests must be disclosed prior to or at the time of submission, as post-offer requests may be denied
